Happy 1st Birthday Baby Boy!!!!

It's hard to believe this time a year ago, Bryce was still in my belly...barely. That day went by so fast, it's almost a blur. I know I sound like a cliche, but where has this past year gone?!?! I look at him sometimes and I just can't believe.

So for this birthday post I'm going to take a look back.

Operation Vacation is a SUCCESS!

Since my last post we have been to Cozumel, Mexico and back! It was a much needed vacation that went by WAY TO FAST!! It felt like we were only there for a couple of days and I truly could have stayed another week, even with my needy child.

This was my 8th trip to Cozumel, and our 5th time to stay at the El Cozumeleno resort. It's an all-inclusive resort, and if you look at Trip Advisor you will find mixed reviews but we have always found it to be a great place to stay at a reasonable price. The resort is immaculately clean! The view from the ocean view rooms is AMAZING! The staff are AWESOME! The Miami vices and Blue Hawaiins were plentiful!

Bryce was a big hit with the staff and the other guests. He did really well during the entire trip. I hope that we will be able to take him somewhere once a year.

Since I'm short on time...as usual...I'll just post a few...okay several...teaser photos until I can post more including a full review.

Really quickly...if it's even possible.

I don't have much to type tonight, or don't need to be typing, but I wanted to go ahead and post Halloween pictures.  So here they are!

Oh, I guess we'll start with some pictures from my birthday dinner on Saturday night.

From there we picked Bryce up from my Mom's and headed to a Halloween Party for a little bit.

Then on Sunday we did some Trick or Treating.

The post 2 weeks in the making.

Believe it or not I began writing this post on October 19th, I definitely planned to post it before now...but that's the way it goes!

Oh the anticipation we had last year at this time waiting to meet our little guy!
Now he's trying to walk...oh wait that was almost two weeks ago...now he IS walking! He first started walking between close objects now he will stand up in the middle of the floor and take off walking. I forget how helpless he was in the beginning up until he was able to sit on his own...and he hasn't stopped since.

Around October 16th we finally had Bryce's two top teeth break through and he knows how to use them. He's munching on chicken tenders and biting... mostly me. He's gotten in trouble a few times, so hopefully he will quickly learn not to bite.

A couple of weeks ago, he started making many different sounds. For the longest time all he's been saying is "Hey" or eh eh. Now he's starting to do the M sound, dadada, and blah blah. He also has this cackle of a laugh he does, it's pretty entertaining for sure. No words that's I've been able to understand yet.

Over the past two weeks and the next month a lot has happened and will be happening.

Tuesday of last week was Bryce's last day at daycare. So now we're back to my Mom keeping him 4 days a week, instead of the 3 that she has been and Nic's mom (Bryce's Mamo) is keeping him on Monday's for the time being until she starts her seasonal job in late Spring.

As for the BIG news I promised on one of my last posts...

Last Friday was my last day at my job of 6 1/2 years as I was offered an accounting position with a local energy company. This industry was exactly where I wanted to be 5 years down the road and I'm there. It is an amazing opportunity, especially considering I'm still working on my bachelor's degree, and I am blessed beyond belief to have been offered this position.  I began my new job on Monday and concluded my first week today and it was great!

As for what's upcoming....
Nnext month Bryce will be going on his first airplane ride and be getting the first stamp on his passport as we head to our beloved Cozumel. Wish us luck! Hopefully he'll do really well. Fortunately for us he tends to behave his best in public...at least he puts on a good show. We've got a great group going with us including Nic's mom, my sister and her fiance, and my best friend and her boyfriend.

Of course the biggest event coming in the next month is Bryce's 1st birthday party! The date is set! The decor/theme is decided! And the invitations are almost ready! I'm going to try really hard NOT to go overboard...but I'm not making any promises. ; )

I think that's about all I'm going to post for tonight as I've got a lot of homework to work on.

An Earthquake...in Oklahoma...really?!?

This morning shortly after 9am, I (and many others around the state) felt my first earthquake EVER! I know here in Oklahoma we have frequent earthquakes, but they are not usually strong enough to be felt, this one definitely was.  After I felt the tremors, I immediately assumed an earthquake, then called my mom in the next town over. I asked her if she just felt it and when she confirmed she did, I knew that it was indeed an earthquake.

The epicenter was determined to be east of Norman, OK. After first being downgraded from a 4.5 to 4.3, it has now been upgraded to a 5.1.

Crazy stuff!!

Teething, Fair, and BIG, BIG changes!

We're REALLY close to having two top teeth! I can see a couple white points. For the most part he's doing well with them, however he does have his moments but nothing like when he was cutting his two bottom teeth.

With two top teeth imminent, I thought I better go ahead and purchase Bryce his first toothbrush and floride free toothpaste. He definitely needs an early start because good teeth do not run on either side of his family.

For the past 10 days the Tulsa State Fair has been in full swing. As our annual tradition ahs been, we went one evening with my boss and his family eating until our little hearts content.

One of our first stops when we got through the gates was the Birthing Center where a mama pig was in the middle of giving birth. There was quite a crowd so I wasn't able to get any pictures besides from the mirror view. This little piglet is just minutes old.

Like father, like son...at least where sunglasses are concered.

Our first food of choice was the Indian Tacos found in the Quik Trip center. From there we browsed the booths, stopping by the Tulsa Fire Department booth, where they had a pink fire truck in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Bryce was perfect angel...of course! He always puts on a good show for everyone. He did manage to escape out of the stroller without his Daddy noticing, I guess that means he will be buckled in from now on.

Over the past couple of weeks we have bought some new living room furniture, including a new TV stand, which Bryce helped put together.

Then he felt the need to test out the shelves.

Over the next couple of weeks some big changes will be taking place. Bryce will be losing his part-time spot at daycare due to another part-time child going full-time. I was a little disappointed but I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason, and I was right as there is bigger change just around the corner. I'll save the details for later! ; )

Just some photos

Despite my last post being almost 2 weeks ago, I just don't feel like typing too much tonight. I'm ready for bed, yet I felt the urge to at least share some photos before I do go to bed.

However before I post the pictures I will note that a few days after my most recent post I did weigh Bryce and he still hadn't quite made it to 19 lbs. In fact he weighed exactly the same as he did at his 9 month checkup. So we might be in the 9 month clothes just a little longer.  I'd also like to share that he's been more frequently taking 1 or 2 steps here and there, so we might be in for it very soon.

So now for the pictures from the past couple of weeks.

I finally caught one of him standing all on his own... eventhough he's not happy about it.

Our new game when Bryce decides he's finished eating, he just spits it back out. Thanks Daddy for teaching that one!

Practicing blowing out the candle for his first birthday!

Goodnight!
